SOLVING BEHAVIOR PROBLEMS USING VISUALS

Speaker: Linda Hodgdon, M.Ed, CCC-SLP is a Speech Pathologist who is internationally known for her expertise in developing the use of visual strategies (www.usevisualstrategies.com) to support communication needs of students with autism, asperger's and other communication and behavior challenges. Linda is a powerful and entertaining presenter, author of both Visual Strategies for Improving Communication and Solving Behavior Problems in Autism & Other Communication Disorders plus a consultant who inspires program participants to accomplish new goals with students and your child.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND? Parents, Teachers, Social Workers, Speech Therapist, Pschologist, Administrators, and others who live or program for children with communication and behavior challenges.
ABOUT THE PROGRAM: Expanding the use of visual strategies for communication helps students significantly reduce behavior problems and increase functional communication. This progam will define the need, discus training, and demonstrate lots of practical ideas for improving behavior at home and at school. You will learn to :
- Identify causes of behavior challenges
- Understand the behavior-communication-visual strategy link
- Use the Guide for Assessing Behavior Situations
- Use visual strategies to change behavior
CONFERENCE INFORMATION:
Conference Cost $ 120 pp or $200 couple (1 book)
Includes: Continental breakfast, lunch, the book Solving Behavior Problems in Autism & Other Communiatin Disorders, presentation , Vendor Fair and free parking.
Accrediations: Illinois CPDUs, ASHA CEUs, Social Worker CEUs, CEs for Psychologist, OT, PT and Certificates of Participation on request.
Free Childcare - available to the first 25 children registered ages 0-12.. Advance regitration is required. Send Name, Age, Dx, if applicable. Participants must bring cold lunch and change of clothes/supplies for the child(ren).
